AMMO of Mig Jimenez Rubble Pigments 35ml

Rubble Pigments are a grey color used to achieve a dusty appearance in an urban environment. Superfine-quality pigment made from natural products for use in scale modeling. This color is specially designed to make effects on your models using techniques that Mig Jimenez has been creating for more than a decade. Use it alone or in combination with other AMMO products.

  • High-quality material
  • Direct application
  • Stickiness

High-quality pigments are the basis of every good paint and in their pure form, allow modelers to implement a vast array of weathering techniques. They can be applied directly and dry as well as wet, together with a thinner gel medium or fixer in general.

Dry Application Techniques

This is the most straightforward and simpler method of pigment application. Direct and dry application with a brush of your choice leads to visible tone variation instantly. This method is quick and effective but if overdone, looks unrealistic after fixing them. This method is ideal for ashes, dust, smoke and dry stain effects. Blowing pigments against a scenery or diorama from a distance (outside only or you might get into trouble with your partner) also adds some finishing touches, if done carefully. Works especially well with minuscule dust effects on rolling stock.

Wet Application Techniques

Wet streaking and weathering with pigments are ideal for oil stains, water patches, fresh and dried thick mud and rainwater weathering.  Simply apply some thinner to the surface, then apply a tiny amount of pigments and streak or brush them in the desired direction. Ideal for sides of tanks and other surfaces that have rain running down on them.  The representation of thick, broken or crumbling mud calls for gel medium and some acrylics support for best results. Topped off with some other color pigment and thinner, this leads to incredible thick wet mud looks.

Fixing with Pigment Fixer

After applying your pigments, they can be set in place with a pigment fixer and rubbing alcohol. The latter one is cheaper but can lead to more harm if you are not careful. The fixer sucks itself through the pigments to the base thanks to capillary action and then seals them in place once dried.
